The Festival's final concert showcases two extremely important works of the 20th century, Arnold Schönberg’s The Book of the Hanging Gardens and Leos Janácek’s The Diary of One Who Disappeared. Presented with choreography by Chicago-based dancer/choreographer Andrew Erickson, The Book of the Hanging Gardens depicts the story of a doomed adolescent love affair in an Eden-like garden. Janácek's Diary tells the tale of a young farmer who falls in love with a mysterious gypsy and is set against a stunning backdrop of video projections by Los Angeles-based designer Hana S. Kim.
